Professional Career[]

Joe Chan (born Xiu Xiang Chan June 13, 1960) was born and raised in Chengdu, China. He competed in the Heavyweight Division for several years but was never able to capture the Heavyweight Championship. One of Chan's most high profile fights came in the late 1980s against rising star, Tommy Gunn. Chan tried to put up a fight, but he fell victim to Gunn's vicious left hook.

During his prime, Chan was described as a small heavyweight, but what he lacked in power he made up for with guts, heart and an excellent boxing brain. He was a tricky fighter that could hit and move with great pace, tagging Chan was extremely difficult.[2]
